Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen performed well in athletics and was fascinated by rough and athletic game. Her ability to perform was an ideal complement to her interest in sports. She was awarded nearly all Feis Award for Theatre and Drama the country could give. As a teenager, she had been accepted into the Abbey Theater, where her passion for classical theatre and operatic music was explored. Charles Laughton became captivated with her stunningly beautiful eyes when watching a screen-test. Before deciding to cast her on the screen in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton together with his friend, Erich Pommer, changed her name changed from Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" which was a little smaller last name to fit the marquee. As a contract holder to Laughton, Maureen's next picture was planned to be made in America (The Hunchback and Notre Dame (1939)) in the studio of RKO Pictures. Maureen had the opportunity to purchase her contract with Laughton when the movie was a huge success. Maureen was 19 when she starred with Laughton in two of her films.
