
Jennifer was always hoping to be a multitasking celebrity. As a child Jennifer was fond of a variety of musical styles, mostly Afro-Caribbean musics like merengue, salsa and bachata. Also, she was a fan of mainstream music like hip-hop as well as R&B. Although she loved film, it was the industry of music that also intrigued her. West Side Story (1961), Rita Moreno's musical that greatly influenced her and was her most significant source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Aside from being a budding performer Jennifer was also a Catholic girl who spent eight years of a Catholic elementary school , named Holy Family which was located in The Bronx, before graduating at an all-girls pre-school, Preston High School after four years. In high school, Jennifer was an amazing athlete and was a participant in tennis and track. When she was in Castle Hill, she spent the majority of her time in a two story home. When she was 18, Jennifer moved out of the home of her parents. Lopez started her job at the law office, while also dancing in the evenings.
